g. roslie’s ModScape series - ‘sea, foam & the moon’

each one-of-a-kind ModScape textile art is conceived as a visual experience of a natural landscape found wandering the earth, memorized in the mind’s eye or by photograph & re-created in a minimalist, modern abstract fashion onto a textile art form combining my love of natural places, natural dyeing, textiles, modern design & art. my aim is to create a sense of peace, calm & contemplative reflection through the work i do for both myself and the viewer.

: sea, foam & the moon - the moonscape series is a study in minimalism with emphasis on the ethereal nature of color, space & form. in my mind, this beautiful haiku matched both the depth-layers of the indigo blues & simplicity of the form:

each textile art is made from naturally hand dyed flax linens. the backing is a natural organic cotton muslin. the magnetic open wooden frame lends a beautiful structure & ease of display while keeping the art tactile & accessible.

note: please keep all naturally dyed textile away from direct exposure to sunlight to prevent premature fading & degrading of fabric.
