g. roslie’s ‘super-natural’ textile art is a labor of love beginning with a memorable landscape photo she has taken or sent to her for a commissioned piece. g. sketches the landscape into a modern-abstract interpretation & chooses the color of each component. next, she begins the process of dyeing her color palette which ultimately serves as her paint & canvas, so to speak. g. uses organic soymilk to cure the fabric & dyes them with earth & plant pigments, a process that can last several weeks. once the color palette has been created, g. makes the patterns & cuts them to fabric & sews the pieces together creating the ‘modscape’ from the initial photo & sketch. if you have a favorite landscape image or would like g to imagine one for you, please contact us by email to discuss a custom ‘modscape’ for your home or work environment. below are some examples of pieces she has created including a series of strictly abstract work done recently.
